SILVER LAKE PARK SPRING CLEAN UP EVENT:
On Saturday May 2nd our Civic Association hosted a spring cleanup event in Silver Lake Park, in collaboration with NYC Parks and the Partnership for Parks.
Over 50 volunteers from the West Brighton area, as well as numerous students from Staten Island schools, participated in the cleanup, focusing on an overgrown area below the observation deck on Victory Boulevard. Despite initial concerns, the volunteers effectively divided into three groups, working together to collect 21 bags of leaves, 8 bags of debris, and a substantial pile of small trees, ivy vines, and roots, which will be removed by the Park's Department the following Monday. The FRRCA would like to extend its gratitude to Susan Frazier, a dedicated NYC Parks employee, who provided invaluable guidance throughout the cleanup. Please enjoy the photos below.

On November 14th over 75 attendees gathered at Martling Avenue for the "Rally to Remove Fence". The prevailing sentiment was that Staten Island opposes external decision-making by the city without consultation. Fosella announced the mayor's office is engaged and taking the matter seriously.
Local officials such as Vito Fossella, Kamillah Hanks, & David Carr as well as CB1 leadership were in attendance. And also in attendance; all North Shore Civic Associations such as St. George Civic Association , New Brighton Civic Association ,Port Richmond Civic Association , Clove Lake Civic Association , Westerleigh Civic Association and our Civic Association The Forest Regional Residents’ Civil Association.

The Beatification Project of the Forest and Bard Intersection:
With the generosity of local businesses, Gary's Landscaping and Gerardi's Garden Center, and numerous community donations, our civic association has successfully brightened up the intersection of Forest and Bard Avenues through the large planters donated by DOT.
We extend our gratitude to the volunteers who dedicated their time yesterday morning to complete this beautification project. We hope that everyone will enjoy passing by this newly enhanced area. These planters will be maintained by our civic and any community members who would like to help. Thank you to photographer Mary DiBiase Blaich.
